"CopperGarden®" 8 Liter Copper Pot with Handle, hammered

This 8 liter copper pot can be used even over an open fire or hung in a fireplace thanks to its sturdy handle made of enamel-coated iron. Pure copper is highly heat-resistant and ideal for outdoor cooking. It works best on a gas stove or burner, or when hung over a fire pit. You can also place the pot directly on a grill or in the fire among the embers. Copper can handle this and retains all of its great properties. However, we still recommend never heating the pot dry, and always adding water or oil beforehand.

After cooking, you can also hang the pot with a hook or chain on the handle, creating a highly decorative display in your kitchen, on a tree, or on tent poles. The copper will change color with each use, quickly showing that it is being used. Unlike other materials, copper protects itself from oxidation with a gradually developing patina that evolves into a brownish hue, and remains durable for centuries even with extensive use, as you can see in any historical museum. There is no more durable and sustainable material for the kitchen. Copper pots, even when they have matured in color, are a true delight for the eyes.

Pots made of pure copper are particularly well-suited for making Feuerzangenbowle, punch, mulled wine, as a Sennkessel for cheese production, for all kinds of desserts and dairy products, and of course, as a cooking pot for dumplings and pasta. Dishes known to be best prepared in copper include: Italian polenta, Galician squid, fondue, risotto, couscous, jams, chocolate, marzipan, caramel, beaten egg whites, roasted almonds, milk-based desserts, cheese, Feuerzangenbowle, beer, and mulled wine.

Here's a tip for a "special" use: try frying a chicken in the copper pot. You will love it. Even though we focus on vegan production at our factory, you can, of course, cook animal products in copper. No matter what you want to cook in this pot, we wish you a lot of fun.

Important notes for cooking in copper

This copper pot has been handcrafted from pure copper and equipped with a sturdy handle made of enamel-coated iron for hanging. The pot has a flat bottom but a slightly curved base, and can also be used with electric cooktops, although with some limitations in heat transfer.

When cooking with gas, fire, or directly in the embers, you can heat the pot very intensely. Copper remains resistant up to nearly 1,000 degrees. However, we recommend never heating the pot empty and adding oil or water in a timely manner.

Due to the brilliant properties of pure copper, you can perfectly prepare things like jam, cheese, or roasted almonds. However, we do not recommend leaving cooked food in the pot. If you wish to serve directly from the pot or use it for all types of food like a regular cooking pot, we suggest selecting a tin-plated pot or kettle. Tin is heat-resistant up to 232 degrees and provides protection for both the copper and your food.
