However, please note that copper offers extremely high heat conductivity. The handles may become hot during use. Please exercise caution and use oven gloves and trivets.

Manufacturer address: UNICOBRES GmbH & Co. KG, Hersfelder Strasse 16, 36132 Eiterfeld, Germany, E-mail: info@destillatio.com

Why Tin-Lined Copper? Copper provides the best heat conductivity. With a core or coating made of aluminum or steel, this advantage is lost. The tin lining is 100% safe, as the body naturally eliminates tin. At the same time, the excellent heat conductivity is preserved. In addition, tin combined with a little oil offers outstanding non-stick properties. You will love it. If the tin lining should one day become worn or scratched, it can be re-tinned at any time. This ensures the pan remains usable for a lifetime. Quality for centuries.

Healthy Frying in a Copper Pan

Our tip for a healthy lifestyle, long-lasting copper cookware, and joy in the kitchen: use only high-quality oils and add a small amount to your pan right from the start. A copper pan should never be heated empty.

Important to know: At 232u00b0C (450u00b0F), the tin lining may begin to melt. At around 250u00b0C (482u00b0F), the copper itself may start to warp.

A standard stovetop can reach 400u00b0C (750u00b0F), a ceramic glass cooktop up to 600u00b0C (1,100u00b0F), and a gas flame or open fire can exceed 1,000u00b0C (1,800u00b0F)!

Donu2019t worry! During normal cooking, frying, and baking, you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: if the oil smokes, it is too hot! You harm your health long before a copper pot or pan is affected.

Above 175u00b0C (347u00b0F), frying and deep-frying become unhealthy, as acrolein forms. Even high-heat oils will begin to burn by 200u00b0C (392u00b0F) at the latest. There is only one exception: artificially highly refined sunflower oils can withstand extreme temperatures above 230u00b0C (446u00b0F).

Add your food before the oil starts to burn! Your health will thank you u2014 and so will your pan.

Another tip: You donu2019t need a thermometer for frying. Simply place the end of a wooden spoon into the hot oil. If small bubbles form around the wood, the oil is hot enough for frying or deep-frying. If it starts to smoke, it is far too hot.

What if it does happen? If you accidentally heat your copper cookware above 232u00b0C (450u00b0F), the tin lining may melt. This is 100% harmless to your health, even if it comes into contact with food u2014 your body will simply eliminate it. If necessary, the pan can always be re-tinned.

If your pan is exposed to temperatures above 250u00b0C (482u00b0F), it may warp slightly. This is usually not a major issue, but on electric stovetops a warped base may reduce heat transfer efficiency.

One more important note: Copper transfers heat extremely quickly u2014 including to the handles! Always use oven gloves or a cloth when touching the handles.

This copper pan is a high-quality cooking tool. With a little care, it will bring you great pleasure and last a lifetime.

Copper is a living metal and will naturally change color over time. You can polish away these signs of use, but we recommend allowing the pan to mature gracefully.

The tin lining may dull with use. Its original silvery shine will turn into a matte gray. If you wish, the pan can be re-tinned at any time. For a pan of this size, this typically costs around u20ac30. However, re-tinning is not necessary unless the lining is heavily worn or deeply scratched.
