Baumalu 20 cm Copper Frying Pan with Handle
This wonderful small copper frying pan is suitable for all types of cooktops (except induction), from stovetops to open fire or glowing coals when grilling. It can sear steaks at high heat, gently simmer dishes, gratinate food in the oven, or serve your meals stylishly at the table.
The food-safe tin lining is completely harmless to health, acts as a natural non-stick coating, and at the same time preserves the incredible thermal conductivity of copper. The tin lining protects the copper and, if it should ever become scratched, the pan can easily be re-tinned at a low cost. A tin-lined copper pan is truly an investment for life.
You will soon want to fry with nothing but copper. Copper is still the best material for cooking, because only copper transfers temperature changes from your cooktop immediately to the food. As a cook, you can regulate the temperature instantly as needed, for example simply by removing the pan from the stove.

However, you should know that copper has extremely high thermal conductivity. The iron handle may become hot during use. Please be careful and use oven mitts and trivets.

Manufacturer address: BAUMALU SA, 67600 BALDENHEIM, 20 Route de Schwobsheim, France, Email: info@baumalu.fr

Why tin-lined copper? Copper offers the best thermal conductivity. With a core or coating made of aluminum or steel, this advantage is lost. The tin lining is 100% safe because the body simply excretes tin naturally. At the same time, the excellent thermal conductivity of copper remains intact. Tin also provides excellent non-stick properties when used with a little oil. You will love it. If the tin lining eventually becomes worn or scratched, the pan can easily be re-tinned. This keeps the pan usable for a lifetimeu2014quality for centuries.

Healthy Frying with a Copper Pan

Our tip for a healthy life, long-lasting copper cookware, and more joy in the kitchen: use only good-quality oils and add a little to your pan right from the start. A copper pan should never be heated empty.

Important to know: At around 232u00b0C the tin lining could begin to melt. At temperatures above 250u00b0C the copper itself may warp.

A normal stovetop can reach temperatures of 400u00b0C, a glass-ceramic cooktop up to 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or open fire can exceed 1,000u00b0C!

Donu2019t worry! During normal cooking, frying, and baking you will not reach these temperatures.

Watch the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: if the oil starts to smoke, it is too hot! Your health will be affected long before a copper pan suffers any damage.

At around 175u00b0C frying and deep-frying becomes unhealthy in any pan because acrolein can form. Even high-temperature oils burn at about 200u00b0C. There is only one exception: artificially highly refined sunflower oils can withstand extreme temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Add your food to the pan before the oil burns! Your health will thank youu2014and so will your pan.

Another tip: You donu2019t need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden spoon and briefly hold the end in the hot oil. If small bubbles rise from the wood, the oil and pan are hot enough for frying. If the oil begins to smoke, it is already too hot.

What if it does happen? If you accidentally heat your pan above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may melt. This is completely harmless to health, even if some of it ends up in the foodu2014your body will simply eliminate it. If necessary, the pan can be re-tinned.

If your pan is exposed to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp slightly. This is usually not a problem, but on an electric cooktop a warped base could reduce heat transfer efficiency.

One more important point: Copper transfers heat extremely quicklyu2014even to the iron handle. Please use an oven mitt or cloth when handling the pan while cooking.

This copper frying pan is a high-quality cooking tool. With a little care, it will bring you great pleasure in the kitchen and accompany you for a lifetime.
