However, please note that copper has extremely high heat conductivity. The handle and the copper body become hot during use. Please be careful and use pot holders and trivets.

Manufacturer address:

BAUMALU S.A. | 20, route de Schwobsheim | 67600 BALDENHEIM | Phone: +33 (0)3 88 85 31 35 | Mail: info@baumalu.fr

Why tinned copper? Copper offers the best heat conductivity available. With a core or coating made of aluminum or steel, this advantage is reduced. The tin lining is 100% safe, as the body naturally eliminates tin. At the same time, the excellent heat conductivity remains. If the tin lining becomes worn or scratched over time, it can be re-tinned. This ensures that the saucepan can be used for a lifetime.

Healthy cooking with copper cookware

Our tip for a healthy lifestyle, long-lasting copper cookware and enjoyable cooking: always use good-quality oils and add a small amount to your pan right from the start. A copper pot should never be heated empty.

Important to know: At temperatures above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may begin to melt. At temperatures above 250u00b0C, the copper itself may start to warp.

A standard stovetop can reach 400u00b0C, a glass-ceramic cooktop up to 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or open fire more than 1,000u00b0C!

No worries! During normal cooking, frying and baking, you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: if the oil starts to smoke, it is too hot! You risk your health long before your copper cookware is affected.

Above 175u00b0C, frying and deep-frying become unhealthy! Acrolein forms at these temperatures. Even high-heat oils burn at the latest around 200u00b0C. There is only one exception: highly refined sunflower oils can withstand temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Add your food to the pot before the oil burns! Your health will thank youu2014and so will your cookware.

Another tip: You do not need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden spoon and briefly dip the end into the hot oil. If small bubbles form around the wood, the oil is hot enough for frying. If the oil begins to smoke, it is far too hot.

What if it does happen? If you accidentally heat your copper pot above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may melt. This is completely harmless to your health even if small amounts come into contact with food, as the body naturally eliminates tin. If necessary, the pot can be re-tinned.

If your copper pot is exposed to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp slightly. This is usually not a major problem, but when used on an electric cooktop, a warped base may reduce heat transfer efficiency.

One more important note: Copper transfers heat extremely quicklyu2014even to the handle! Please use a pot holder or cloth when handling the pot.

This copper pot is a very high-quality cooking tool. With a little care, this wonderful copper cookware will quickly bring you great joy and accompany you for a lifetime.

Copper is a living metal and will naturally change color with use. You can polish away these signs of use if you wish, but we recommend allowing the pot to age gracefully.

The tin lining may become dull over time. The original silver shine will turn into a matte gray. If desired, you can have the pot re-tinned at any time. For a pot of this size, this typically costs around 30 euros, but it is not necessary unless the lining becomes heavily worn or scratched.
