However, you should know that copper offers extremely high heat conductivity. The handles and the copper body become hot during use. Please be careful and use oven mitts and trivets.

Manufacturer address:

BAUMALU S.A. | 20, route de Schwobsheim | 67600 BALDENHEIM | Tu00e9lu00e9phone : +33 (0)3 88 85 31 35 | Mail : info@baumalu.fr

Why tin-lined copper? Copper provides the best possible heat conductivity. With a core or coating made from aluminum or steel, this advantage is lost. The tin lining is completely harmless, as the body simply eliminates tin naturally, while the excellent heat conductivity remains intact. If the tin lining should one day become worn or scratched, the pot can easily be re-tinned. This keeps the cookware usable for a lifetime.

Healthy cooking with a copper pot

Our tip for a healthy life, everlasting copper cookware and more joy in the kitchen: use only good quality oils and add a little right at the beginning. A copper pot should never be heated empty.

Important to know: At temperatures above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may begin to melt. Above 250u00b0C, the copper itself may start to warp.

A normal stovetop can reach 400u00b0C, a ceramic cooktop up to 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or open fire can exceed 1,000u00b0C!

Donu2019t worry! During normal cooking, frying and baking, you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: if the oil starts smoking, it is too hot! Your health will suffer long before the copper pot does.

Above 175u00b0C, frying and deep-frying become unhealthy! Acrolein begins to form. Even high-heat cooking oils burn at temperatures above 200u00b0C. There is only one exception: artificially highly refined sunflower oils can withstand temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Add your food to the pot before the oil burns! Your health will thank you u2014 and so will your cookware.

Another useful tip: You do not need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden spoon and hold the end into the hot oil. If small bubbles rise from the wood, the oil is hot enough for frying. If the oil starts smoking, it is already far too hot.

What if it still happens? If you accidentally heat your copper pot above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may melt. This is completely harmless to your health, even if small amounts end up in the food. Your body will naturally eliminate the tin. If necessary, the pot can easily be re-tinned.

If your copper pot is exposed to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp slightly. This is generally not a serious problem, but on electric stovetops a warped base may reduce heat transfer efficiency.

One more important thing: Copper transfers heat extremely quickly u2014 including to the handles! Please always use oven mitts or a cloth when touching the pot.

This copper pot is a very high-quality piece of cookware. With a little care and attention, this wonderful copper pot will quickly bring you great joy and accompany you for a lifetime.

Copper is a living metal and will naturally change color over time through use. You can polish away these signs of life if you wish, but we recommend allowing the pot to age gracefully.

The tin lining may become dull with use. The original silver shine will gradually turn into a matte gray finish. If you wish, the pot can be re-tinned at any time. For a pot of this size, this usually costs around 30 euros, but it is not necessary unless the lining becomes heavily worn or scratched.
