4 liter copper pot, tin-lined with lid
This copper pot can do it all! Whether you want to sear at high heat, simmer gently, or gratinate dishes in the oven, this pot makes it all possible. It is suitable for all types of stovetops (except induction). Thanks to the flat base, the pot works well on electric or glass-ceramic cooktops, but it especially benefits from the responsiveness and performance of a gas flame due to copper’s excellent heat conductivity. Because of its robust construction, you can also use the pot on the grill or place it directly into hot embers. If you need top heat, you can place charcoal on the lid or bury the entire pot in embers. You will love it—even if you simply use it as a bread-baking pot or for gratinating dishes in the oven. Copper can handle it all; just avoid heating the pot empty and always add some fat or water before placing it on a flame.
This pot is not only ideal for cooking, but also beautiful to look at, making it perfect for serving directly at the table. We eat with our eyes first, and food tastes even better when presented beautifully. Copper is the preferred material of professional chefs for good reason—dishes cook better and look better as well. When not in use, the pot looks great on a kitchen shelf, and it is sturdy enough for the dishwasher and even seawater, and can withstand vibrations in the storage compartments of a motorhome traveling through rough terrain.
Thanks to the food-safe coating made of health-safe tin, the pot is extremely easy to handle in everyday use. You can use it for all types of food, even for cooking with acidic ingredients. The hand-applied tin protects the copper from fruit acids and other acids for many years, while still allowing you to benefit from copper’s uniquely high heat conductivity.
You will soon find that you do not want to use any other pot. This pot is an investment for life and can be polished and re-tinned whenever necessary, although you may also simply let it age naturally. Ideal for anyone who values sustainability—this is a pot you only need to buy once. It will stay with you for many years.

However, you should be aware that copper offers extremely high heat conductivity. The handles become hot during use. Please be careful and always use pot holders and trivets.

Manufacturer address: UNICOBRES GmbH & Co.KG, Hersfelder Strasse 16, 36132 Eiterfeld, Germany, E-Mail: info@unicobres.com

Why tin-lined copper? Copper provides the best heat conductivity. Using a core or coating made of aluminum or steel reduces this advantage. Tin lining is 100% safe, as the body naturally excretes tin. At the same time, the excellent heat conductivity remains unchanged. In addition, tin combined with a little oil provides excellent non-stick properties. You will love it. If the tin lining becomes worn or scratched over time, it can be renewed at any time. This allows the pot to remain usable for a lifetime. Quality for generations.

Healthy Cooking in a Copper Pot

Our tip for a healthy life, long-lasting copper pots, and enjoyment in the kitchen: use only good-quality oils and add a little at the very beginning. A copper pot should never be heated empty.

Important to know: At temperatures above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may melt. Above 250u00b0C, the copper itself may warp.

A normal stovetop can reach 400u00b0C, a glass-ceramic cooktop up to 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or open fire can exceed 1,000u00b0C!

Donu2019t worry! During normal cooking, frying, and baking, you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: if the oil starts to smoke, it is too hot! You harm your health long before a copper pot is affected.

Above 175u00b0C, frying and deep-frying become unhealthy, as acrolein forms. Even high-heat oils burn at temperatures of around 200u00b0C. There is only one exception: artificially highly refined sunflower oils can withstand temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Add your food to the pot before the oil burns! Your health will thank youu2014and so will your pot.

Another tip: You donu2019t need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden spoon and hold the end of the handle into the hot oil. If fine bubbles form around the handle, the oil is hot enough for frying. If the oil begins to smoke, it is far too hot.

What if it does happen? If you accidentally heat your copper pot above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may melt. This is completely harmless to health, even if it comes into contact with food. Your body will simply excrete it. If necessary, the pot can be re-tin-lined.

If your copper pot is exposed to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp. This is usually not a major problem, but on an electric stovetop, a warped base may reduce heat transfer efficiency.

One more important note: Copper transfers heat very quicklyu2014even to the handles! Please always use a pot holder or cloth when handling the pot.

This copper pot is a very high-quality cooking tool. With a little care, this wonderful copper vessel will quickly bring you great enjoyment and serve you for a lifetime.

Copper is a living metal and will naturally change color with use. You can polish away these signs of use, but we recommend allowing the pot to age gracefully.

The tin lining may become dull over time. The original silver shine will change to a matte gray. You can have the pot re-tin-lined whenever you wish. For a pot of this size, this typically costs around 30 euros, but it is not necessary as long as the lining is not heavily worn or scratched.
