However, you should know that copper offers extremely high heat conductivity. The handle and the pan become hot during use. Please be careful and use oven mitts and trivets.

Manufacturer address:

BAUMALU S.A. | 20, route de Schwobsheim | 67600 BALDENHEIM | Telephone: +33 (0)3 88 85 31 35 | E-Mail: info@baumalu.fr

Why tin-lined copper? Copper provides the best possible heat conductivity. With a core or coating made from aluminum or steel, this advantage is lost. The tin lining is completely harmless, as the body simply eliminates tin naturally. At the same time, the excellent heat conductivity remains intact. In addition, tin combined with a little oil offers outstanding non-stick properties. You will love it. If the tin lining should eventually become worn or scratched, it can easily be re-tinned at any time. This keeps the pan usable for a lifetime. Quality made to last for generations.

Healthy frying with a copper pan

Our tip for a healthy life, everlasting copper cookware and more joy in the kitchen: use only good-quality oils and add a little oil to your pan right from the beginning. A copper pan should never be heated empty.

Important to know: The tin lining may begin to melt at temperatures above 232u00b0C. The copper itself may warp at temperatures above 250u00b0C.

A normal stovetop can reach 400u00b0C, a ceramic glass cooktop up to 600u00b0C and a gas flame or open fire even more than 1,000u00b0C!

Donu2019t worry! During normal cooking, frying and baking you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. It is simple: if the oil starts smoking, it is too hot! Long before a copper pan suffers damage, your health is already being affected.

From 175u00b0C onward, frying and deep-frying become unhealthy in any pan! Acrolein begins to form. Even high-heat cooking oils start to burn by 200u00b0C at the latest. There is only one exception: artificially highly refined sunflower oils can withstand extreme temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Add your food to the pan before the oil burns! Your health will thank you u2014 and so will your pan.

Another tip: You do not need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden spoon and briefly dip the end into the hot oil. If fine bubbles rise from the wood, the pan and oil are hot enough for frying and deep-frying. If the oil starts smoking, it is already too hot.

What if it still happens? If you accidentally heat your pan above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may melt. This is completely harmless to health, even if some tin gets into the food. Your body will simply eliminate it naturally. If necessary, the pan can easily be re-tinned.

If you expose the pan to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp slightly. This is not a major problem, but on electric stovetops a warped base can reduce heat transfer efficiency.

One more important note: Copper transfers heat extremely quickly u2014 including to the iron handle! Please use an oven mitt or cloth when handling the pan on the stove.

This copper pan is a very high-quality cooking tool. With a little care and attention, it will quickly bring you great joy and remain your companion for a lifetime.
