"Hecht-Assistent" Safety Pipette 10 ml

This very high-quality safety pipette is a wonderful tool for carefully and precisely drawing, measuring, and dosing even the smallest quantities of liquids. We especially love using this pipette after distillation to separate essential oils from hydrolate. You can suction even tiny amounts of essential oil from the surface, allow it to briefly settle in the pipette away from the hydrolate, and then separate it precisely from the plant water into different containers. It is just as easy to measure your extracted essential oils (and any other liquids) accurately to 0.1 ml and mix them as desired or fill them into small bottles. It simply cannot be done more precisely or easily.

An important tool that should not be missing from any plant distillation setup and one that we can recommend with complete confidence. This safety pipette has proven itself extremely helpful tens of thousands of times in the daily experience of our customers, as well as during our demonstrations, in the Aroma Museum, and on the road with the distillation mobile.

The Hecht safety pipette is a very useful laboratory instrument that we highly recommend. You will enjoy using it when distilling and separating essential oils and will soon not want to be without it.

How is the safety pipette used correctly?

It is actually very simple. Hold the pipette at the top by the piston in your closed hand, and then use your thumb to carefully draw up liquids with great precision, measure them exactly to 1/10 milliliter, and transfer them without loss even into the smallest bottles.

Thanks to the slightly roughened piston surface, the pipette remains airtight and the liquid inside can be safely observed without dripping, measured, separated from air or oil, and transferred.

The pipette is ideal for removing essential oil from hydrolate, even in very small quantities. Simply suction the essential oil from the surface of your distillate (we recommend using a bottle with a narrow neck as the collection container during distillation). Inside the pipette you will then see the essential oil together with the small amount of hydrolate that has also been drawn up. Hold the pipette vertically and gently tap it if necessary. In most cases the essential oil will float on top, allowing you to return the excess hydrolate precisely back into the bottle, measure the amount of essential oil exactly, and transfer it into a separate blue or brown glass bottle.

This is simple and safe, no matter which liquids you are working with.
