Unpack, set up and start distilling
The "CopperGarden®" ARABIA is our clear recommendation if you want to start distilling easily and without unnecessarily high initial costs. You receive a complete 2-litre still with boiler, still head, aroma sieve, coil condenser, sturdy stand and large alcohol burner.
The individual components are carefully matched to one another. The boiler sits securely in the stand, the alcohol burner provides the necessary heat, and the condenser can be supplied with cold water manually, even without an electric pump. All you need is water, suitable plant material and appropriate denatured alcohol.
A distillation thermometer, electric hotplate or cooling water circulation system is not essential for your first distillations. This is precisely what makes the ARABIA such an affordable and straightforward beginner's still: initially, you pay only for what you really need.
A still for almost everything
The ARABIA is not a highly specialised apparatus, but a wonderfully versatile all-rounder. It is suitable for producing hydrolats and floral waters, steam-distilling herbs and flowers, extracting small quantities of essential oils, and producing distilled water, aromas and fragrant extracts.
In Austria, purchased alcohol that has already been taxed can also be used to make your own flavoured spirits, gin and other aromatic distillates. The applicable legal requirements at the place of use must always be observed.
This versatility is particularly valuable for beginners. You do not have to commit to a single application from the outset, but can experiment with different plants, methods and your own ideas.
Excellent value for money within our range of stills
The basic ARABIA is not a stripped-down or incomplete version. It is the same proven still that also forms the basis of the PLUS, ELEKTRO and SORGENFREI versions. The main differences lie in the additional equipment.
You can start distilling immediately and successfully with the basic version. If you want more convenience later, you can add an "Al-Ambik®" distillation thermometer, the matching "Rommelsbacher" portable hotplate or a closed cooling water circulation system.
This means you do not have to make a final decision when you first start out. You can begin at a low cost, gain practical experience and expand the ARABIA later to suit your own working methods.
Stable, portable and independent of the power grid
The ARABIA can be set up quickly and dismantled again after use. Its compact dimensions make it easy to transport and set up in different suitable locations.
The large alcohol burner makes the still independent of a power socket. It can therefore be used at home, in the workshop, in the garden, while travelling or for demonstrations – wherever an open flame can be operated safely and in accordance with applicable regulations.
The stand securely holds the boiler, burner and condenser in their intended positions. Its straightforward design helps beginners understand the entire distillation process and keep everything in view at all times.
Compact aroma chamber for herbs and flowers
The tall still head contains a removable copper aroma sieve. Herbs, flowers, spices and other suitable plant materials can be placed on it above the water.
As the water heats up, steam rises through the plant material, absorbs its volatile constituents and then enters the water condenser. There, the steam condenses back into liquid and emerges as hydrolat or floral water.
The ARABIA's aroma chamber is larger than that of older models with a small inserted aroma basket, but remains more compact than the large plant chambers of the LEONARDO or our column stills. It is well suited to small and medium quantities of plant material. Anyone wishing to process the largest possible quantities of herbs and flowers in a single run should choose a still with a larger plant chamber.
The actual quantity of essential oil obtained depends heavily on the plant species, quality, harvest time, storage conditions and natural oil content. For many plants, the hydrolat is therefore the main product.
Designed for electrical upgrades since 2018
Since 2018, the stand with the alcohol burner supplied with the 2-litre ARABIA has been designed to allow the "Rommelsbacher" portable hotplate to be used with the still at any time. The cork disc required to compensate for the height difference is already included in the basic ARABIA still package.
Cooling as required
The coil condenser has a cooling water inlet and outlet. For occasional small-scale distillations, the warmed cooling water can be replaced manually or topped up with cold water.
If you intend to distil regularly or for longer periods, a closed cooling water circulation system with a water reservoir, pump and suitable hoses is recommended. This equipment can also be added at any time and is already included in full in our ARABIA SORGENFREI package.
From the "CopperGarden®" workshop in Portugal
The ARABIA is forged at the "CopperGarden®" workshop in Portugal. It is the result of our own product development, many years of experience and numerous practical improvements.
The still is made of uncoated, partly hammered copper with brass fittings. The stand is made of wood and forged iron. Minor differences in surface finish and workmanship are part of the handcrafted production process and make each ARABIA a unique piece.
The ARABIA is manufactured without lead and produced using vegan methods, without animal-derived processing aids. We use conflict-free copper, keep suitable spare parts available and ship with carbon-offset emissions from central Germany.

<h2>May I legally distil with the 2-litre ARABIA still?</h2> <p><strong>Important notice: </strong>Under the new German Alcohol Tax Act, which came into force on 1 January 2018, the CopperGarden ARABIA still may also be sold legally in Germany without registration with the authorities. Please note that, as a retailer, we expressly point out that this still may only be used for distilling distilled water, hydrolats, essential oils, aromas, fragrances, perfumes, fuels, food products, alchemical experiments, etc., or as a collector's item.</p> <p>If you distil alcohol, you must expect a fine and confiscation of the distillation equipment. We will then be happy to sell you a new one.</p> <p>Please note that private alcohol production is prohibited in Germany and Switzerland. In Austria, private distillation is permitted only when using alcohol that has already been purchased and taxed.
