"CopperGarden®" 1.5 Liter Copper Pot with Lid

An elegant hand-tinned copper pot that will truly make cooking a pleasure. This pot is not only ideal for cooking, it is also beautiful enough to place directly on the table for serving. After all, presentation matters too. As is well known, dishes prepared in copper turn out better and look even more appealing. Even better is that you can do almost anything with this pot. Whether you want to sear at high heat, simmer gently for hours, bake something in the oven, use the pot on the grill or over a campfire in the embers, or simply place it in the dishwasher afterward — this pot can handle it all.

Thanks to the silvery tin lining, which acts as a natural non-stick coating, the pot remains easy and convenient to use at all times. Tin-lined copper pots can be used for all types of foods, even acidic dishes. The durable food-safe tin lining protects the copper from fruit and other acids for many years, while you still benefit from the exceptionally high thermal conductivity of copper. You will likely find yourself not wanting to use any other pot again.

This pot is an investment for life and can be polished and re-tinned whenever necessary. Ideal for anyone who values sustainability. A copper pot only needs to be purchased once in a lifetime — and it will gladly stay with you forever.

However, you should be aware that copper offers extremely high thermal conductivity. The handle becomes hot during use. Please be careful and use pot holders and trivets.

Manufacturer Address: UNICOBRES GmbH & Co.KG, Hersfelder Strasse 16, 36132 Eiterfeld, Germany, E-Mail: info@unicobres.com

Why tin-lined copper? Copper provides the best thermal conductivity. With a core or coating made of aluminum or steel, this advantage is lost. The tin lining is 100% safe, as the body naturally eliminates tin if ingested. At the same time, the excellent thermal conductivity is retained. In addition, tin combined with a little oil offers excellent non-stick properties. You will love it. If the tin lining should one day become worn or scratched, it can easily be re-tinned. This keeps the pan usable for a lifetime u2014 quality for centuries.

Healthy Cooking in a Copper Pot

Our tip for a healthy life, long-lasting copper pots, and enjoyment in the kitchen: use only good-quality oil and add some right at the beginning to your pan. A copper pot should never be heated empty.

Important to know: From 232u00b0C onwards, the tin lining may begin to melt. From 250u00b0C onwards, the copper itself may warp.

A normal stovetop can reach temperatures of 400u00b0C, a glass-ceramic cooktop up to 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or open fire can exceed 1,000u00b0C!

No need to worry! During normal cooking, frying, and baking, you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. It is simple: if the oil starts to smoke, it is too hot! You risk harming your health long before a copper pot would be damaged.

From 175u00b0C onwards, frying and deep-frying becomes unhealthy! Acrylin forms at these temperatures. Even high-heat oils burn at temperatures above 200u00b0C. There is only one exception: artificially highly refined sunflower oils can withstand extreme temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Add your food to the pot before the oil burns! Your health will thank you u2014 and so will your pot.

Another tip: You do not need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden cooking spoon and hold the end into the hot oil. If small bubbles form around the handle, the oil is hot enough for frying and deep-frying. If the oil starts to smoke, it is far too hot.

What if it still happens? If you accidentally heat your copper pot above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may melt. This is completely harmless to health, even if it comes into contact with food. Your body will naturally eliminate tin. If necessary, the pot can be re-tinned.

If your copper pot is exposed to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp. This is generally not a major problem, but when cooking on an electric stovetop, a warped base may reduce heat transfer efficiency.

One more important note: Copper transfers heat very quickly u2014 including to the handles! Please always use a pot holder or cloth when touching the pot.

This copper pot is a very high-quality cooking tool. With a little care, this wonderful copper pot will quickly bring you great joy and accompany you for a lifetime.

Copper is a living metal and will naturally change color with use. You can polish away these marks of time if you wish, but we recommend leaving them and allowing the pot to develop its character with dignity.

The tin lining may become dull with use. The original silver shine will gradually turn into a matte gray. If desired, you can have the pot re-tinned at any time. For a pot of this size, this typically costs around 30 euros, but it is not necessary unless the lining becomes heavily worn or scratched.
