Do you have any questions?

0.6 litre tin-lined copper saucepan

This fine saucepan will surely bring you great joy in the kitchen. You can sear anything you like with a bit of oil, reduce delicate sauces, quickly boil an egg or simply reheat food—just as you wish. Thanks to the long handle, the pot always sits comfortably in your hand and can be safely removed from the stove or moved over the flame. Iron, used for the handle, conducts heat much more slowly than brass, so for shorter cooking times it is even possible to handle the pot with bare hands. Nevertheless, we always recommend keeping oven mitts or gloves nearby.

This wonderful saucepan with handle is not only ideal for cooking, it is also very beautiful and therefore highly decorative—even when it’s not on the stove. You can place the saucepan directly on the table for serving, as we all know that we eat with our eyes too. With copper, dishes not only turn out better, they also look more appealing.

Important to know: We offer this saucepan in the best possible configuration with a forged iron handle, reinforced smooth copper and an easy-care non-stick coating made of 100% pure tin. This makes the pot suitable for all types of cooktops (except induction) as well as for all foods. You can even use the saucepan over an open fire or in embers, as well as in professional kitchens. Baumalu offers a highly sustainable, top-quality product that you will enjoy for a lifetime.

However, you should be aware that copper has extremely high thermal conductivity. The handle and the copper body will become hot during use. Please be careful and use oven mitts and trivets.

Manufacturer address:

BAUMALU S.A. | 20, route de Schwobsheim | 67600 BALDENHEIM | Phone: +33 (0)3 88 85 31 35 | Email: info@baumalu.fr

Why tinned copper? Copper offers the best heat conductivity. Using a core or coating made of aluminum or steel reduces this advantage. The tin lining is 100% safe, as the body simply excretes tin. At the same time, the excellent heat conductivity is preserved. If the tin lining becomes worn or scratched over time, it can be re-tinned. This ensures that the saucepan remains usable for a lifetime.

Healthy Cooking with a Copper Pot

Our tip for a healthy life, long-lasting copper cookware and more joy in the kitchen: use only good-quality oils and add some right at the beginning to your pan. A copper pot should never be heated empty.

Important to know: From 232u00b0C onwards, the tin lining may melt. From 250u00b0C, the copper itself may warp.

A standard stovetop can reach 400u00b0C, a glass-ceramic cooktop up to 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or open fire can exceed 1,000u00b0C!

Donu2019t worry! During normal cooking, frying and baking, you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: if the oil starts to smoke, itu2019s too hot! You harm your health long before a copper pot is affected.

From 175u00b0C onwards, frying and deep-frying becomes unhealthy! Acrolein forms. Even high-heat oils burn at the latest around 200u00b0C. There is only one exception: highly refined sunflower oils can withstand temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Add your food to the pot before the oil starts to burn! Your health will thank youu2014and so will your pan.

Another tip: You donu2019t need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden spoon and dip the end into the hot oil. If small bubbles form around the handle, the oil is hot enough for frying. If it starts to smoke, it is far too hot.

What if it does happen? If you accidentally heat your copper pot above 232u00b0C, the tin may melt. This is completely harmless to your health, even if it gets into your foodu2014your body will simply excrete it. If necessary, the pot can be re-tinned.

If you expose your copper pot to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp. This is generally not a problem, but when cooking on an electric cooktop, a warped base may reduce heat transfer efficiency.

One more important note: Copper transfers heat extremely quicklyu2014including to the handle! Please use an oven mitt or cloth when handling the pot.

This copper pot is a very high-quality cooking tool. With a little care, this wonderful copper vessel will quickly bring you great joy and serve you for a lifetime.

Copper is a u201clivingu201d metal and will change color with use. You can polish away these signs of life, but we recommend not doing so and allowing the pot to age gracefully.

Tin may become dull with use. The original silver shine turns into a matte grey. If you wish, you can have it re-tinned at any time. For a pot of this size, this will cost around u20ac30, but it is not necessary as long as the coating is not heavily worn or scratched.
