However, please note that copper offers extremely high heat conductivity. The handles will become hot during use. Please exercise caution and use pot holders and trivets.

Manufacturer address: UNICOBRES GmbH & Co. KG, Hersfelder Strasse 16, 36132 Eiterfeld, Germany, email: info@destillatio.com

Why tinned copper? Copper provides the best heat conductivity. With an aluminum or steel core or coating, this advantage is lost. The tin lining is 100% safe, as the body naturally eliminates tin. At the same time, the excellent heat conductivity is preserved. In addition, tin combined with a little oil offers outstanding non-stick properties. You will love it. If the tin lining should one day become worn or scratched, it can be re-tinned at any time. This keeps the pan usable for a lifetime. Quality for centuries.

Healthy Frying in a Copper Pan

Our tip for a healthy life, long-lasting copper cookware, and real enjoyment in the kitchen: use only good-quality oils and add a little right at the beginning. A copper pan should never be heated empty.

Important to know: At 232u00b0C (about 450u00b0F), the tin lining may begin to melt. At 250u00b0C (about 480u00b0F), the copper itself can start to warp.

A standard stovetop can reach 400u00b0C, a glass-ceramic cooktop up to 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or open fire over 1,000u00b0C!

Donu2019t worry! During normal cooking, frying, and baking, you will never reach these temperatures.

Watch the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: if the oil is smoking, itu2019s too hot! You are harming your health long before a copper pan would suffer any damage.

From 175u00b0C onwards, frying and deep-frying become unhealthy, as acrolein forms. Even high-heat oils burn by 200u00b0C at the latest. There is only one exception: highly refined sunflower oils can withstand extreme temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Add your food before the oil burns! Your health will thank you u2013 and so will your pan.

Another tip: You donu2019t need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden spoon and hold the handle into the hot oil. If fine bubbles form around the wood, the oil is hot enough for frying. If it starts to smoke, itu2019s far too hot.

What if it still happens? If you accidentally heat your copper pan above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may melt. This is 100% harmless to your health, even if small amounts come into contact with food. Your body will naturally eliminate tin. If necessary, the pan can always be re-tinned.

If the pan is exposed to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp. This is usually not a major issue, but when cooking on an electric cooktop, a warped base may reduce heat transfer efficiency.

One more important note: Copper transfers heat extremely quickly u2013 including to the handles! Always use a pot holder or cloth when touching the handle.

This copper pan is a high-quality cooking tool. With a little care and attention, it will bring you joy for a lifetime.

Copper is a living metal and will naturally change color with use. You can polish away these signs of life, but we recommend allowing the pan to mature gracefully.

The tin lining may become dull over time. The original silver shine will turn into a matte gray. You may have it re-tinned at any time if you wish. For a pan of this size, this typically costs around u20ac30, but it is not necessary unless the lining becomes heavily worn or scratched.
