"CopperGarden®" ø 20 cm Copper Frying Pan with Lid
This small copper frying pan is suitable for all dishes and kitchen applications thanks to its durable, food-safe tin lining. Thanks to the tin lining, you can safely cook with lemon or other acidic ingredients without concern and without requiring any special expertise. The tin lining protects the copper, and if it should ever become scratched, the pan can be re-tinned at any time at low cost. A copper frying pan is an investment for life, and you will likely soon not want to fry with anything else.
Despite the tin lining, you can still benefit from the fantastic heat conductivity of copper. In professional kitchens, copper remains the best material for proper cooking, as it transfers temperature changes from the stovetop directly to the food. As a cook, you can regulate the temperature instantly as needed.
This copper frying pan comes in an indestructible quality, almost like from another era! Our head chef has been cooking almost daily with a pan from this series for two years and is delighted. For testing purposes, our chef’s pan is even placed in the dishwasher repeatedly, and although the copper no longer shines as it did at the beginning, the tin lining is still perfectly preserved and suitable for daily use.

However, you should be aware that copper offers extremely high heat conductivity. The handle becomes hot during use. Please be careful and use pot holders and trivets.

Manufacturer Address: UNICOBRES GmbH & Co. KG, Hersfelder Strasse 16, 36132 Eiterfeld, Germany, E-Mail: info@destillatio.com

Why Tin-Lined Copper? Copper offers the best heat conductivity. With a core or coating made of aluminum or steel, this advantage is lost. The tin lining is 100% safe, as the body simply excretes tin. At the same time, the excellent heat conductivity is preserved. In addition, tin combined with a little oil provides excellent non-stick properties. You will love it. If the tin lining becomes worn or scratched one day, it can be re-tinned at any time. This ensures that the pan remains usable for a lifetime. Quality for centuries.

Healthy Frying in a Copper Pan

Our tip for a healthy life, long-lasting copper cookware, and enjoyment in the kitchen: use only high-quality oils and add a small amount to your pan right at the beginning. A copper pan should never be heated while empty.

Important to know: At temperatures above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may begin to melt. At temperatures above 250u00b0C, the copper may start to warp.

A normal stovetop can reach 400u00b0C, a glass-ceramic cooktop up to 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or open fire can exceed 1,000u00b0C!

Donu2019t worry! During normal cooking, frying, and baking, you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: when the oil starts to smoke, it is too hot! You harm your health long before a copper pot is damaged.

From about 175u00b0C onward, frying and deep-frying become unhealthy as acrolein forms. Even high-heat oils burn at temperatures above 200u00b0C. There is only one exception: highly refined sunflower oils can withstand extreme temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Add your food to the pan before the oil begins to burn! Your health will thank you, and so will your pan.

Another tip: You donu2019t need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden spoon and hold the end into the hot oil. If fine bubbles form around the spoon handle, the oil is hot enough for frying and deep-frying. If it starts to smoke, it is far too hot.

What if it still happens? If you accidentally heat your copper pot above 232u00b0C, the tin may melt. This is completely harmless to your health, even if it comes into contact with food. Your body will simply excrete it. If necessary, the pot can be re-tinned.

If you expose your pan to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp. This is generally not a major problem, but when cooking on an electric stovetop, a warped base may reduce heat transfer efficiency.

One more important note: Copper transfers heat very quickly u2014 including to the handle! Please use a pot holder or cloth when touching the handle.

This copper frying pan is a very high-quality cooking tool. With a little care, it will bring you great joy and accompany you for a lifetime.

Copper is a living metal and will change color over time with use. You can polish away these signs of use, but we recommend leaving them and allowing the pan to age gracefully.

Tin may become dull through use. The original silver shine will change to a matte gray. You can have the pan re-tinned at any time if you wish. For a pan of this size, this will cost around u20ac30, but it is not necessary as long as the lining is not heavily worn or scratched.
