"CopperGarden®" 24 cm Copper Pan with Handles
This copper pan is suitable for all types of cooking methods and dishes thanks to its durable coating made from pure tin. A wonderful pan for cooking on gas, on the grill, and over open fire, and even for baking in the oven. Thanks to the flat base, the pan also works perfectly on standard electric cooktops and glass-ceramic hobs. Give it a try — you will quickly love this pan and may never want to use any other material again. The unique heat conductivity of real copper shows its true strength especially when frying.
The tin lining protects the copper while preserving its outstanding heat conductivity. In professional cooking, copper is still considered the best material for precise cooking, as it transfers temperature changes from the heat source immediately and without delay to the food. The pan also performs excellently outdoors and during camping and withstands dishwashers just as well as long journeys in a motorhome over rough terrain.
This pan is handcrafted in virtually indestructible quality and will certainly accompany you for a lifetime. If necessary, it can be re-shaped, polished, or re-lined at any time. A pan for life.
Tip: The lid of the 24 cm copper pot also fits this pan perfectly. It is best to order it at the same time.

However, you should be aware that copper offers extremely high thermal conductivity. The handle becomes hot during use. Please be careful and use potholders and trivets.

Manufacturer address: UNICOBRES GmbH & Co.KG, Hersfelder Strasse 16, 36132 Eiterfeld, Germany, E-Mail: info@destillatio.com

Why tinned copper? Copper offers the best thermal conductivity. With a core or coating made of aluminum or steel, this advantage is lost. The tin lining is 100% harmless, as the body simply excretes tin again. At the same time, the excellent heat conductivity is preserved. In addition, tin provides outstanding non-stick properties when used with a little oil. You will love it. If the tin lining should one day become worn or scratched, it can be re-tinned at any time. This keeps the pan usable for a lifetime u2014 quality for generations.

Healthy Frying with a Copper Pan

Our tip for a healthy life, long-lasting copper cookware, and more enjoyment in the kitchen: use only good-quality oils and add a little oil to your pan right from the start. A copper pan should never be heated empty.

Important to know: From 232u00b0C onwards, the tin lining may begin to melt. From 250u00b0C onwards, the copper may warp.

A standard stovetop can reach temperatures of 400u00b0C, a glass-ceramic cooktop up to 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or open fire can exceed 1,000u00b0C!

No worries! During normal cooking, frying, and baking, you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: if the oil starts to smoke, it is too hot! You harm your health long before the copper pan suffers any damage.

From 175u00b0C onwards, frying and deep-frying become unhealthy! Acrylin forms. Even high-heat oils burn at temperatures of no later than 200u00b0C. There is only one exception: artificially highly refined sunflower oils can withstand extreme temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Add your food to the pan before the oil burns! Your health will thank you u2014 and so will your pan.

Another tip: You donu2019t need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden spoon and dip the end briefly into the hot oil. If fine bubbles form around the spoon handle, the oil is hot enough for frying and deep-frying. If it begins to smoke, it is far too hot.

What if it does happen? If you accidentally heat your copper pan above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may melt. This is completely harmless to your health, even if it comes into contact with food. Your body will simply excrete it again. If necessary, the pan can be re-tinned.

If you expose your pan to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp. This is usually not a major problem, but when cooking on an electric stovetop, a warped base may lead to some heat transfer loss.

One more important note: Copper transfers heat extremely quickly u2014 including to the handle! Please use a potholder or cloth when touching the handle.

This copper pan is a very high-quality cooking utensil. With a little care, it will bring you great joy and accompany you for a lifetime.

Copper is a living metal and will change color with use. You can polish away these signs of life, but we recommend leaving them and allowing the pan to age gracefully.

The tin lining may become dull with use. The original silver shine will turn into a matte gray. If you wish, you can have it re-tinned at any time. For a pan of this size, this usually costs around u20ac30, but it is not necessary as long as the lining is not heavily worn or scratched.
