"CopperGarden®" 2.5 Liter Tinned Copper Pot

An elegant, hand-tinned copper pot that is guaranteed to bring you joy in the kitchen. This pot is not only ideal for cooking, it is also so beautiful that you can place it directly on the table for serving. After all, we eat with our eyes, too. It is well known that all dishes turn out better in copper cookware—and they look better as well. Even better, this pot is incredibly versatile. Whether you sear at high heat, gently simmer for hours, bake something in the oven, use the pot on the grill or over a campfire in the embers, or finally put it in the dishwasher—this pot can handle it.

Thanks to the silvery tin lining, which acts as a natural non-stick coating, the pot is always easy and uncomplicated to use. Tinned copper pots are suitable for all types of food, even for cooking acidic ingredients. The solid, food-safe tin lining protects the copper from fruit acids and other acids for many years, while you still benefit from copper’s uniquely high thermal conductivity. You will likely soon find yourself not wanting to use any other pot.

This pot is an investment for a lifetime and can be polished and re-tinned at any time if needed. Ideal for anyone who values a more sustainable way of thinking. You only need to buy a copper pot once in your life—and it will happily stay with you forever.

With a core or coating made of aluminum or steel, this advantage is lost. Tin lining is 100% harmless, as the body simply excretes tin. At the same time, the excellent heat conductivity is retained. If the tin lining becomes unattractive or scratched over time, it can be re-tinned. This makes a tinned copper pot usable for a lifetime.

Healthy Cooking in a Copper Pot

Our tip for a healthy life, copper pots that last forever, and more joy in the kitchen: use only good-quality oils and add some to your pan right from the start. A copper pot should never be heated empty.

Important to know: At temperatures above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may begin to melt. At temperatures above 250u00b0C, the copper itself may warp.

A standard stovetop can reach up to 400u00b0C, a glass-ceramic cooktop up to 600u00b0C, and a gas flame or open fire can exceed 1,000u00b0C!

No need to worry! During normal cooking, frying, and baking, you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: if the oil is smoking, itu2019s too hot! You are harming your health long before a copper pot is damaged.

From around 175u00b0C onward, frying and deep-frying become unhealthy, as acrolein can form. Even high-heat oils burn at temperatures of 200u00b0C at the latest. There is only one exception: artificially highly refined sunflower oils can withstand extreme temperatures above 230u00b0C.

Add your food to the pot before the oil burns! Your health will thank youu2014and so will your pan!

One more tip: You donu2019t need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden spoon and hold the end in the hot oil. If fine air bubbles rise from the spoon handle, the oil is hot enough for frying or deep-frying. If it starts to smoke, itu2019s far too hot.

What if it does happen? If you accidentally heat your copper pot above 232u00b0C, the tin lining may melt. This is 100% harmless to health, even if it ends up in your foodu2014your body will simply excrete it. If necessary, the pot can be re-tinned.

If your copper pot is exposed to temperatures above 250u00b0C, it may warp slightly. This is generally not a problem, but when cooking on an electric stovetop, a warped base can lead to some heat transfer loss.

Also important: Copper transfers heat very quicklyu2014this includes the handles! Please use a pot holder or cloth when handling the pot.

This copper pot is a very high-quality cooking tool. With a little care, this wonderful copper vessel will quickly bring you great joy and accompany you for a lifetime.

Copper is a living metal and will change color over time with use. You can polish away these signs of life, but we recommend leaving them and allowing the pot to age gracefully.

The tin lining may become dull through use. Its original silver shine will gradually turn into a matte gray. If you wish, you can have it re-tinned at any time. For a pot of this size, this would cost around u20ac30, but it is not necessary as long as the lining is not heavily worn or scratched.
