Do you have any questions?

MoonshinersChoice 40 Liter Wooden Fruit Press

This sturdy fruit press, made of solid beech wood in masterful craftsmanship, offers several advantages and special features, which we would like to explain to you below.

Firstly, the construction of this press differs from most fruit presses. The sturdy embedded iron spindle is located above the pressing basket, as opposed to being inside the fruit basket like in other presses. This has several benefits, as it completely avoids any contact between your fruits and the iron (or any oil residue on it). It is said that fruits oxidize faster when in contact with iron. Moreover, the entire volume of the fruit press, which is 40 liters, can be utilized, leading to an honest 40 liters of pressed juice. Furthermore, this design is much easier to clean. Pressing fruits becomes enjoyable.

Another fine difference: The screws around the pressing basket are only visible from the outside, so your fruits will not come into contact with the iron even inside the basket. The pressed juice flows downwards, where it is collected in a stainless steel tray. The yield is high, as the pressing pressure is distributed not only on the walls but across the entire bottom.

A high-quality 40-liter pressing bag is included and can be easily reordered as a spare part. Another advantage is that the bag is completely sealed, allowing you to conveniently remove any pressed residues.

This indestructible fruit press is manufactured for us in the Czech Republic and undoubtedly meets the highest quality standards. The wood, except for the base plate, is solid beech wood treated to protect against fruit acids. All the materials used are food-safe and certified by the manufacturer. We can confidently recommend this fruit press to you.

How to Press Juice with a Fruit Press?

It is important to know that quinces, apples, pears, and grapes need to be crushed before pressing. We recommend using a mill, depending on the quantity. Especially with hard fruits like apples or quinces, everything should be well crushed before pressing. For grapes, traditional stomping with feet or crushing with hands is recommended. Always ensure good hygiene to prevent spoilage of the juice or wine later on.

For stone fruits, such as plums and damsons, it is recommended to remove the pits before juicing, as they could damage the pressing bag.

The actual pressing process is quite simple. Place the pressing bag into the press basket and fold the edges over the top. This creates a container that can be filled directly with your prepared fruit. Make sure to place a container underneath the juice tray from the beginning, as the juice will start flowing from the press basket due to its own weight.

Then fold the top of the pressing bag over your fruits and place the wooden board for the spindle on top. Use the included spacers to adjust the height accordingly. It is recommended to set it relatively high and then start turning the spindle. Excessive force is usually not necessary, as the juice will flow easily and quickly into your container.

Cleaning the Fruit Press

Please do not forget to clean the press immediately after the pressing process. We recommend rinsing everything with water, drying it thoroughly, and storing it dry and clean if possible.
