Activated carbon is a tremendous help in the distillation of schnapps and the production of drinks. On one hand, it helps to improve the flavor of freshly distilled schnapps and make it smoother. At the same time, activated carbon is also used to eliminate cloudiness, color and flavor imperfections, and undesirable aromas in wine, cider and spirits.
The MonshinersChoice activated carbon can simply be added to the drink. After a short working time, the activated carbon is simply filtered off (preferably using a pleated filter).
Examples for use:
Distillates: add 2 to 5 grams per liter - 12 to 24 hours working time and then filter.
For cloudy distillates, simply add a spoon of activated carbon and place the liquid in the refrigerator for a few days. Filter the ice cold liquid through a pleated filter and you will obtain a transparent distillate!
Wine: add 1 to 3 grams, maximum allowed is 10 grams - 1 to 3 days working time and the filter.
Cider: add 5 to 10 grams maximum per liter – let it stand only until fermentation begins.
