Ideal for gas stoves and open fires, but you can also utilize these properties on electric and ceramic stoves.

Thanks to the tin lining, you can cook with acidic ingredients without damaging the copper. Copper offers the best thermal conductivity. With a core or coating of aluminum or steel, this advantage is lost. Tinning is 100% safe as the body simply excretes any ingested tin. In addition, the excellent thermal conductivity is maintained. If the tin lining becomes unattractive and scratched over time, it can be re-tinned, ensuring the pan remains usable for a lifetime.

Healthy Cooking in the Copper Pan

Our tip for a healthy life, long-lasting copper cookware, and fun in the kitchen: use only good oils and add some to your pan right at the beginning. A copper pan should not be heated empty.

Important to know: At 232 degrees, the tin coating might start to melt. At 250 degrees, the copper may warp.

A normal stovetop can get as hot as 400u00b0; a glass-ceramic cooktop can reach 600u00b0; and a gas flame or open fire can exceed 1,000u00b0!

Donu2019t worry! Under normal cooking, frying, and baking conditions, you will never reach these temperatures.

Pay attention to the smoke point. Itu2019s simple: if the oil smokes, itu2019s too hot! You are harming your health long before the pan suffers.

At 175u00b0, frying becomes unhealthy! Acrylin forms. Even high-heat oils burn by 200u00b0. There is one exception: artificially highly refined sunflower oils can reach extreme temperatures above 230 degrees.

Put your food in the pan before the oil burns! Your health will thank you, and so will your pan!

Another tip: You donu2019t need a thermometer for frying. Use a wooden cooking spoon and hold the end into the hot oil. If fine air bubbles rise from the spoon handle, the oil is hot enough for frying. If it starts to smoke, itu2019s far too hot.

What if it happens! If you accidentally overheat your copper pan above 232u00b0, the tin might melt. It is 100% non-toxic even if it ends up in your food. Your body will simply excrete it. If necessary, the pan can be re-tinned.

If your copper pan is exposed to temperatures above 250 degrees, it may warp. This is usually not a problem, but on an electric stovetop, a warped bottom could lead to heat transfer losses.

Another important note: Copper conducts all temperatures very quickly, including to the handles! Please use a potholder or cloth when handling the pan.

This copper pan is a very high-quality cookware item. With a little care, it will quickly bring you joy and serve you for a lifetime.

Copper is a living metal and will change color with use. You can polish away these traces of life, but we recommend letting the pan age gracefully.

Tin can dull with use. The original silver shine will turn into a matte gray. You can re-tin it anytime you want. This will cost around 30 euros for a pan of this size, but it's not necessary as long as the coating is not heavily worn or scratched.
